STRUCTURED CABLING

## Building a network foundation

A structured cabling system is the crucial foundation of your network for voice, data, and security. This collection of copper or fiber wiring and other components in walls, ceilings, conduit, and elsewhere; connects all of your hardware.

Wiring can be added to an existing home or business, where practical, but by far the best time to complete structured wiring is during construction or renovation.

The included cabling that most builders offer is often woefully inadequate for today’s uses, and falls completely short for future uses. Additionally, a lot of builder’s place outlets in locations that may make sense to a builder, but don’t make sense from the point of view of a network professional.

By engaging the services of a networking professional during your home construction or renovation, you can ensure that your home is ready for today and the future.

QUICK FACTS

### Why structured cabling is important

- Provides a backbone for all your network components.
- Used for voice, data, security cameras, and access control.
- Offers increased reliability and security over wireless options.
- Can be added to existing buildings, but best completed during construction or renovation.
- Becoming more and more important in modern connected smart-homes.
- Is absolutely essential in office or industrial environments.

THE PROCESS

### How we complete your project

##### **Survey**

We begin with a thorough site survey to assess the environment, evaluate existing infrastructure, and plan cable routes. We discuss your current needs and any potential future requirements.

##### **Design**

We choose the appropriate cable and components required. This often includes network racks or enclosures, battery back-ups, conduit, switches or routers, patch panels, and any wireless access points.

##### **Installation**

We install the system. This includes pulling cables through walls, ceilings, and conduits. Mounting racks, enclosures, switches, wireless access points, etc. Terminate all connections and cabling, ensure everything is connected.

##### **Testing**

We connect all the components together and make sure everything is working. We organize and label cabling in the rack to provide ease of use and maintenance.
